Since when is it a limitation of something when you have to do some
debugging to find out what went wrong? Moreso when it seems to be an
individual problem in your system?

You can use the boot.iso in distrib/cauldron/i586/install/images/ to
boot and install Cauldron.
Cauldron is a system under development, using it means being prepared
to do new/clean installations now or then.
