I fail to see how it would be better from a QA point of view, since
the purpose of this change is to decrease the number of ISOs that we
have to test to ensure that Mageia works as intended... Should we make
a blog post saying “Hey guys it took too much time to test all the
LiveCDs and DVDs we used to ship previously, so now we don't provide
any medium and you just have to make your own... of course we can't
ensure the distribution will behave as intended because we didn't test
it :)”?

But I guess I may have misunderstood your point.
Though if it is really about letting people create their own customs
ISOs instead of using ours, I fail to see how it could be more
user-friendly that having to download a 1 GB LiveDVD and to burn it or
dump it on a USB key. I suppose most end-users would just freak out
when they see that they have to do most of the job by themselves. At
least I would.
