Dear packagers,

A lot of progress has happened on the RPM group move. Thanks a lot.
However there is still a bit to do before the release happens.

The main categories that need still to be changed are:

Obsolete group | number of remaining packages

Books/Computer books 2
Books/Howtos 2
Books/Other 26
Graphics 116
Office 86
Sound 104
Video 224

Total = 560
(which represents only 18% of the packages that had to change group:
the 81% have already been dealt with. Yeah us!)

For these 560 packages, it is mostly about sending them to the different
subgroups mentioned in the policy:

https://wiki.mageia.org/en/RPM_groups_policy#List_of_official_groups

However, several hundreds of these packages have not been moved because
they do not build. So it's the opportunity to look at the rebuild effort
that pterjan started at http://pkgsubmit.mageia.org/autobuild/

Last but not least, it has been reported that some of the groups were
not adapted, therefore slowing down the movement, since no one knows
where to put the packages. I'm taking notes about possible minor changes
that could be implemented quickly (through simple scripting):
- creation of Games/Simulation
- Graphics/Editors renamed as Graphics/Editors and Converters
- Graphics/Other renamed as Graphics/Utilities
- Office/Other renamed as Office/Utilities
- creation of Sound/Composition
- removal of Sound/Visualisation
- creation of Video/Television

I think it's a bit too late to do that before Beta 2 (although since
these changes do not affect anything but the presentation in rpmdrake,
it's safe to do it at any time), but I wish to hear other possible
suggestions (someone suggested to have a System/Sound for sound systems,
like alsa or pulseaudio).

Any remarks? Suggestions?

Cheers,

Malo
