  There were problems with some apps' 64-bit versions, e,g, Java/Flash
extensions for Firefox, and as (from what I have read) the performance
benefits of 64-bit v. 32-bit do not appear to be significant, I have
stuck to 32-bit.

Hopefully there will be a time when the 64-bit app problems go away, and
when there are signs of that I will change to 64-bit.
