The blog post seems to say that the distribtor license is retired because Oracle now consider OpenJDK to be mature enough so that this license is no longer needed.
The blog post also says that the license was invented to serve the community untill a Free Java implementation could take over. This point seems to have been reached, according to the post.

This is actually good news for the Free software community.
