It solves the width problem nicely, which I very much appreciate.
(Still a problem with very wide tables, but probably not much one can to 
about that.)

And I like the new look.
However it does have a few rough edges -- presumably it is still a work 
in progress.
(If it helps, I can provide a few screenshots.)
