Just tried it, and didn't see that message, so it looks as though that
has cured it.  Thanks.

Over the next few days I'll be giving KMail another try.  Thunderbird
has done pretty well for me, but I still have an attachment to KMail -
and despite add-ons, there are still some things that it does better.
 Some things about TBird are good though - when KMail is completely
settled I might suggest adding those features :-)
