The screenshot seems weird, like the background is broken? This really

GDM+GNOME3 background was changed by me in
https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=4419

Only checked in GDM, but seemed to work fine.

Can you select a different background in System Settings and report what
that does?
