It seems that people who connect to tx without being in the group are
marked as "inactive", even if being added in the group later. 

That's likely the cause of the problem. I have seen several people with
inactive account ( yet no one who complained ), so I guess we should do
something for that : 
- proper error messages
- proper prevention of the issue
