Hi guys,

I saw several mails going through this week-end (was offline) about
this background thing and I would like to make a summary.

There have been some nice ideas, but I believe I have not been clear
enough that time is real short and that small, consistent changes are
needed now.

So far, all backgrounds are ok but the one for the desktop/login
screen. So that will be this one we will change. And only this one.

To keep consistence with others, the background base is going to be
what I used to call the dark blue "grid" - maybe there's a better
name. Nothing else. No white gray block as in other backgrounds. Only
one addition: a small Mageia logo should be on the right bottom
corner, properly spaced from borders.

This logo should either be in the same style as in the grub menu (cut
in the gray block), either in the original, final style - but then the
contrast won't be good, unless there's a clear, white shadow below to
detach it from the background.

I am perfectly aware that this may not fit some of your expectations
but I'm stating this because:
 - we're short on time; final artwork should be pushed by next Monday,
to allow a few days of checks; artwork freeze is due on May 10th (see
http://mageia.org/wiki/doku.php?id=iso_1_specifications ) after that,
it's done.
 - we have a single, consistent background to build (not change everything);
 - consistence with other backgrounds prevails here.

On a different note, here's a list of open bugs where artwork list is cc'ed:
https://bugs.mageia.org/buglist.cgi?cmdtype=runnamed&namedcmd=%40artwork%20bugs
- that is, at this time:
 * https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1002
 * https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=270
 * https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=472
 * https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=976
 * https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1090
 * https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1010

If one bug is closed every day, that's it.

Thank you for your feedback.

Cheers,

Romain
