while this is simple to do, the logo will not scale well. The text
will be distorted and while this is already happening, it will be far
worse with the text than with just the cauldron.

Again, this comes down to time issues and not being able to write the
plymouth theme properly, if anyone knows plymouth well please step in
otherwise I feel that this has to be a goal for mga3.

You would need to talk to ennael about this, i know that there are
quite specific requirements on the bootsplash image, but I don't know
what they are. However, using the logo you suggest is possible, time
permitting.
