I'm not so sure, what should require ir, being one of those stubborn people 
using phonon-xine even after all kinds of people told me I was wrong :D
But to be serious, if we add a gstreamer plugin to an application like amarok, 
we would force gstreamer upon people who might prefer another phonon backend.
