there was some requests to get direct communications for mentoring, hence the
chat channel.
the idea is that all frequent questions are being put on the FAQ and all
things unclear on the policies (which are alot of them).
if you want to become a packager, and you are assigned a mentor, often your
mentor will ask you to send emails to him/her.
mentors and people helping out with mentoring are asked to go on that chat
channel. i'm on it, and it's quite busy there.
the thing is that packagers need to read up on policies cause it's important
to follow those.
even if you don't have a mentor yet, you can still make .spec files, have
someone comment on those and possibly others will commit and submit them for
you (your mentors' job), until you become a packager
