And you can continue doing that, my suggestion doesn't force anyone to use
multiple  addresses, but if gives you the choice if you want to.
Multiple email addresses is common practice and doesn't cause confusion at
all since it has nothing to do with the name/nickname. It is in no way
unfriendly to communication partners.

Spam filters (especially base on content) are not foolproof. There is
areason why even yahoo and gmail allow you to linke multiple email
addresses to your yahoo/gmail account. It is the most hassle free way to
avoid spam and to know where the spam is coming from (i.e. which company
you gave your email address to leaked it to spammers).

If you are happy with one address then good for you, I'm not forcing you to
change, but you shouldn't pretend like your way is the best way.
