Sure, rpm5 is a good software but I have seen the consequences in cooker:
- very long discussions,
- a lot of side effects
- costs a large amount of time.

For Mandriva, the cost was acceptable: the number of people, the calendar and 
the infrastructure already in place made the switch possible.
IMO, Mageia cannot waste time and efforts *now*.
