[Mageia-dev] Updating ruby to 1.9 series?

Hello,

Considering upstream calls for ruby updates [1], we should migrate to
ruby 1.9 now, for mageia 3. Else, we won't receive any security
updates at the date when mga3 be released.

In short, for ruby 1.8.7 we currently have:
* normal updates till June 2012 (already passed)
* security updates till June 2013 (3 months after mga3 release)
* no any updates since June 2013 (15 months for mga3 lifetime, 6
months for mga2)
