I'm impressed too. This thing is FAST, as regards the transition time
from one install screen to the next. Much faster than MDV installing in
the same VBox VM. The L&F is very nice, and a 1600+ package list (all
categories on Custom checked, plus all desktops) took 12 minutes elapsed
from the ISO image.

What really pleased me was that all of the minor UI glitches I've
reported over the years for the MDV install have been fixed, e.g. root
password prompt actually has focus on the entry field, TAB in User
Management doesn't pass the focus from userid to the userid dropdown,
but directly to the password field, and so forth. Unless someone at MDV
fixed this stuff while I've been waiting for them to fix the standard
cooker install, it shows that the Mageia team really went through the
old bug reports and/or thorough UI testing.

Everything hangs together. Sure, there are lots of missing packages,
but that's to be expected. What's there works. A lot of the GNOME 2.32
breakages seem to be gone as well.

Really good stuff.
