Hello,
just want to gather some opinions about a metapackage for all those multimedia
stuff. Especially among newbies and beginners there seems to be need for easy
installation of multimedia-related packages, be it codecs, or media players
or trans-/encoders or even video/audio editing.
Referring to this post: https://forums.mageia.org/en/viewtopic.php?p=3830#p3830
and my answer to it, how do you think about such a package? But please, before
you answer, think as a beginner who maybe doesn't know what package is
for which audio or video codec, or with which app you can cut or transcode
media files.
This is just about the general idea, there could be also be some
task-codec-video and task-codec-audio package to split this up,
and i have already some desktop-dependent subpackages,
at least for GNOME and KDE.
Kind Regards
PS: To give those of us who are into packaging maybe a clearer view,
it could look a bit like this http://mageia.org/wiki/doku.php?id=task-multimedia
