Hello - just as a "dont giveup" message: My production system on my Dell 
Latidude D820 (also multi-boot) is Mageia 1 - no hicks whatever (all 
updates installed up to yesterday).

However, I use a particular install procedure: start with a minimal KDE 
install and post-install (script) all the additional packages needed 
once the minimal system is up - evidently my mix of "needed" packages is 
different from yours (though: I have all the packages your error 
messages documents as fighting each other - same release - peacefully 
coexisting).

Others can probably give you more competent advice how to get out of the 
update mess. If I would have these error messages, I would completely 
dis-install and newly install KDE - or even do a fresh install, might be 
less time consuming than trying to understand and correct what really 
happened to your system.
