[Mageia-discuss] automounting problem

I suspect it is because the FS was RO; I finally broke down, mounted the 
Kindle on the Windows® laptop of my SO; Windows® automatically checked the FS, 
found and sorted out errors, and the Kindle no mounts properly on my Mageia 
box...

So the problem was a corrupt FS as you had suggested.
 
Question for the future is why did fsck fail to correct the FS ?
