Just a note - NEVER (!!) delete ~/.kde4/ as this will lose all your settings.
You can instead move it away using the "mv" command:

I'm just mentioning it so people won't be encouraged to do so (and you shouldn't do
so in the future).

I didn't encounter any of these problems either on Mageia 2 x86-64 or Mageia Cauldron
x86-64. If you can reproduce them somehow, you can file bug reports on http://bugs.kde.org/ .
