I hope you got something useful out of that exchange with Jeff about
the problem I found with one particular instance of an nfs server (on
Mageia 1). If nothing else it goes to show that unexpected issues can
arise which defeat our best efforts, no matter how closely we follow
the recipe.

You said you are using Mandriva 2010 and I found that setting up my
nfs server on Mandriva 2010.2 in a LAN which is, topographically,
almost identical to yours, was completely successful.

If you are still having issues then it is definitely time to look for
the error messages.
