[Mageia-discuss] Quick news about Mageia 2 RC isos

I would recommend you to do a fresh install as your fully updated
beta3 is at least the same and possibly a day or three younger than
the RC. So you already have the RC code running, but the key element
of RC testing is "end-to-end" so we can be confident that all of the
install-type issues have been fixed for everyone and that the first
boot works as expected.

If, like me, you are already happily running beta3 updated (aka RC
plus a few hours worth of updates) you may be hoping to avoid the
"hassle" of a reinstall of your lovingly customised system. You could,
perhaps, find a small free corner of a hard drive you could install
to, and then abandon when you have checked out the installation and
first boot.

My solution has been to rotate a small number of external usb drives
(up to 3 at the moment, but I was greedy). The oldest started life as
alpha2 and was maintained up to the end of beta1 when I reinstalled as
beta2. The second one started as beta 2 and has been maintained up to
now. The third one started life as beta3 and is still bang up-to-date.

I hope you find some useful ideas in this - happy testing!

Richard
