Easy enough to do from the command line, as root:

if your NAS is on, you can put your notebook at with:

ifconfig eth0:temp netmask

Now your netbook would have 2 ip addresses, one under eth0 and one under eth0:temp

To remove the eth0:temp would be:

ifconfig eth0:temp down
