I found libtiff5 in Mageia 2's repositories:
http://mageia.madb.org/package/show/application/0/name/libtiff5
Maybe you can just create a symbolic link if /usr/lib/libtiff.so.4 is
missing but you have a /usr/lib/libtiff.so.
