Hello,
Currently Mageia have both scim and ibus in core repository. But
neither have input method modules available, which means they are not
really usable right now. (scim and ibus are input method platforms for
input method modules of different written languages.) Mandriva has
already begun migration to ibus. I'm wondering if it's planned for
transition from scim to ibus before the first release of Mageia.
Ubuntu and Fedora both adopt ibus as default input method platform,
while openSUSE still uses scim in 11.4. Scim development seems stalled
and there's no newer release than 1.4.9, which was released in april
2009. Many bugs of scim remain unresolved and is still incresing in
Mandriva.
Thanks,
You-Cheng Hsieh
