Well, mageia is fork from mandriva which is will use KDE as major DE IMHO.
For not being fans i guess all DE have they own fans. So it would be no
problem at all. You can find in archlinux statistic for example. Major DE
they use is KDE, it list on they package statistic. I'm on arch, ubuntu and
mandriva. So between each distro doesn't matter which DE you use is not a
problem. The important things is how to promote mageia so people will see it
as a good Distro compared with the old one.
