Actually i don't get that reasoning. You want to care for some packages.
This is the same as being their maintainer. And i think it's pretty difficult
to do worse than having no maintainer at all.

You know you can have saved searches as you wish?
F.ex. i'm using one showing me Junior Jobs but leaving out new package requests 
from the results

ne for Stale bugs which saw no action in the last 90 days
