What packages require gcj ? Tux guitar ?
Gcj is obsolete, it supports only Java 1.4 and some stuff of 1.5, it has not been updated since september 2009.
Therefore I think it is better to put effort on openjdk/icedtea and Oracle jdk policies rather than gcj
