Please don't install a different glibc - there lies the path
to insanity. One option would be to rebuild boinc-client
from source and compile it, or to update the package. I don't
know if you can use the older version of boinc effectively, because
I'm nto intimately familiar with it.

You can submit an upgrade request on http://bugs.mageia.org/ .
