The only file that was in /var/spool/mail/ before I created that file
was 'postfix'.  When I checked the Cauldron netbook, that was the
situation there too, so clearly this is not what it was referring to.

I have /home/anne/.thunderbird/4upsp8fe.default/Mail/Local Folders/
where there is absolutely nothing in the Inbox.  There is a Saved
folder their, containing a single saved message.

This is clearly carried over from my Fedora installation.
