I consider this whole discussion a bit useless.

1st: I always prefer to have someones real name, when communicating 
with him/her. If somebody does not want to be known to do something 
harmless like packaging for a linux distro he/she should probably not 
be doing it.

2nd: Unlike wobo (just to keep you informed) I am a packager. True, I 
am still a padawan at Mageia, but I have built quite some packages in 
the past and I always put my real name in the changelog. True we used 
a centralized mailadress...

3rd: When you are afraid of spam harvester bots you should probably 
stop writing to the MLs, because you can look up the addresses in the 
Archives.

4th: I often had or wanted to contact packagers from other distros 
building the same thing and I never found one package without the 
packagers email address
