This discussion is the same kind as the discussion about the default
browser or background or whatever. Everybody has his own way - for me
the first thing I remove from the panel is that totally useless
working space icon which minimizes all open windows (I never found out
the reason for that icon). The first things I insert in the panel are
the icons I need most of the time: the browser, the konsole, kate and
mcc.

We could surely spend our times with polls and/or forum threads on
this question, but the result will always match only the requirements
of one group of users. The rest has to go and customize.
