Hello, i would be in favor of proposal 2.

For not beeing in sync with upstream projects ( gnome, kde, ... ) this
is for me a "false problem" because we won't provide the first
release ( like gnome 3.2 or kde 4.7 ) but we will be able to release a
bugfix release ( gnome 3.2.x , kde 4.7.5 ) which means less work for
QA team during stable release.

This proposal allow us to do more "long term" projects too.

I think that with proposition 3 we will have less visibility because
ppl will have real news of us only once per year.
