in any case, i'm asking because we do have a policy of remove all static libs
(.a) and .la files. i just wasn't sure the .a files were static libs in this
case, or just something completely unrelated.
but since the others have .so, i think they are static libs.
also, usually there are versioned .so files and the .so files themselves need to
be in -devel; i guess it's not so for ocaml packages...
