[Mageia-discuss] Remember, Never try to upgrade an existing installation using a Live cd.

Just a reminder to ensure everyone is aware, Live cds should
NEVER be used to upgrade an existing system.

Live cds should only be used for testing, and for clean installs.

When installing from a live cd, the running system from the live
cd is copied to the selected filesystem(s), overwriting anything
that is already there, and then customizing the installation for
the hardware it's being installed on.

During the first boot of the newly installed system, any files
created in the home directory of the live cd, will be copied into
the home directory of the first user created, overwriting any
existing files that are there.

An example where this has happened. While running a live cd,
firefox was run creating the /home/live/.mozilla directory in
the live cd filesystem. The installation was done, unselecting
the option to format the /home file system. On first boot,
the same user name that was used in the prior installation was
entered as the first user. The result was that the files in
/home/user/.mozilla were overwritten with the copy created while
using the live cd.
